While waiting for our clay birds to come out of the kiln the 4th grade has been working on some pretty cool Op Art designs. Color choices were optional, but many students picked complimentary colors to really make their design pop and play tricks on your eyes!
Second graders have been learning about the artist Vincent VanGogh and the different types of art he made. We first looked at his landscapes and made our own versions of Starry Night. Then we looked at the self portraits that he made of himself throughout his life and learned to draw our own self portraits!
Third grade has been learning about depth and overlapping. They just finished up their landscapes where they learned about foreground, background, depth, overlapping and perspective. Grandma Moses was our inspiration for these landscapes!
First graders have been learning about different color groups and the artist Wassily Kandinsky! They created their own version of Kandinsky's Concentric Circles.
