I'm so impressed how well the 4th grade's clay birds turned out so far! Step one was making the pinch pot birds and now we wait for them to dry enough to be fired! Step two.... Glazing!
Third grade students are focusing on overlapping and depth. They are learning how to blend oil pastels to turn a 2D circle into a 3D sphere.
Love, love, love these self portraits by the kg kiddos! We read the book My Many Colored Days and then made a picture depending on what mood they were in.
The KG kids loved reading Color Zoo and guessing what animals the shapes made. They then got to use shapes to make their own animals, paint them with lines and dots, and finish them by making a colorful pattern boarder!
4th grade students created Calaca masks which are a part of the day of the dead celebrations. Students learned about symmetry, different color groups, and the symbols of the celebration..... Candles, marigolds and bells!
